Chapter 43: Yang Ke’er loses her temper!

“Why not, they’re so cute! Why can’t we bring them along? It’s not like they cannot be raised!” Yang Ke’er continue to complain. Zhang Xiao Qiang had adamantly rejected the notion of bringing the 3 weasels away.

Zhang Xiao Qiang was driving the tractor with one hand, and it crawled at a 20 miles/hour speed. His position felt extremely awkward, and he wasn’t used to it, however, since they were uncertain about the possibilities of mutant beasts at that area, they could only continue on their journey.

It was not like he didn’t think of teaching her to drive, however, since obtaining that obscene strength, she had been extremely over-confident. What if she suddenly decided to turn the tractor into some race car. There was no choice, he had to ‘sacrifice’ himself and drive with his injury.

“Uncle, were you listening at all?” Yang Ke’er saw that Zhang Xiao Qiang was silently driving and not minding her. She continued to pester him.

“……………..”

He continued to drive on without replying, controlling the wheel with his left hand required his concentration, even though it was just an ordinary tractor.

“Zhang Xiao Qiang!! You’ve seen all there is to see! Touch all there’s to touch! What? Now you want to shirk responsibility?” Yang Ke’er saw that Zhang Xiao Qiang was ignoring her and began to raise her voice.

“Gazhi” He brought the tractor to a halt as he looked back at her helplessly, while she was currently using the binoculars to look at him, being mischievous.

“If I don’t hit her, she would step all over me, seems like I need to teach her a lesson!”

He wanted to teach her a lesson, to know what happens when he was enraged. His eyes enlarged like he was about to spit fire, his left fist curled up into a ball and opening up again, his chest heaving as though he was about to explode at any moment.

Seeing that he was about to burst, Yang Ke’er continued to stare at him through the binoculars without batting an eyelid.

After a while, his inflated lungs released the air, the now half-crippled Zhang Xiao Qiang had no energy to discipline her. He was feeling depressed but helpless at the same time.

“You said I’ve seen it, fine! Take it that I’ve seen it! But when did I ever touch you?” Since he couldn’t use force, he tried to reason.

“What? That day after you sprained your back, didn’t I massage you? After massaging so long, isn’t that already counted?” She began to play the rogue.

“Damn it, by your logic, I should have married the lady who washed my feet!” He was truly furious, how was it that this girl was so young yet ridiculous? What’s going to happen if she continues to be like this in the future?

Yang Ke’er didn’t speak, only pointing towards him, while her finger shook.

“You still dare to act against me? Come, come, come! I’ll teach you what it means to be part of the Zhang family!” He stepped out and was about to bring down judgment on this little lady who didn’t know her boundaries.

“Nono, it’s not that, there’s someone there!” Yang Ke’er pointed behind him while saying.

He grabbed the binoculars and looked towards the direction.

There was a fork in the road up ahead, and at about 200m away there was a small factory. The factory was being surrounded by a wall, so it was hard to see the situation in it. On top of a small building which could be a plant or a warehouse, there was a man jumping up and down on the roof, waving to get their attention.

“What do you think?” He asked for her opinion, after all, he was a casualty now, and the only person who could act was her.

“Let’s take a look first! Don’t worry, I won’t run away with some toyboy!” Yang Ke’er replied with understanding, as though she could see through his worries.

As the tractor came to a stop about 200m away from the factory, they looked at the person again, one of them through the binoculars, another through the scope of a sniper rifle.

They discovered that the factory was small, there were only 3 plants and 2 warehouses within, as well as a 3-storey office building. It seemed that the office was the living quarters, as there were all sorts of clothes hung on the windows, fluttering when blown.

A man was wearing a suit that was faded and waving a flag frantically on top the warehouse. He seemed to be welcoming the arrival of the two of them.

“Uncle, what do we do? Shall I rush in?” Yang Ke’er piped in cautiously.

“Wait!” He was still gazing through the binoculars.

“Wait?” Uncertainty filled her mind.

He raised his wrapped up right hand and made a motion. She looked like she understood, but at the same time, none the wiser.

Seeing as she had no response, he reminded her: “Did you forget that time when I used your ‘item’ to attract the zombies to jump into the river?”

“Aiya! How can you bring that up? So shameful!” Yang Ke’er lowered her head in embarrassment, before lifting it again. Her eyes shone as she asked: “I thought only females have that, I didn’t know you men have it too?”

Hearing that, Zhang Xiao Qiang almost tumbled out the vehicle in disbelief and could feel the strong gap in their communication.

There was a joke that suddenly surfaced in his mind: “A man couldn’t grow a beard, and was vexed. He went to the hospital to try for surgery but to no avail. In the end, the doctor had to use the hair from his wife’s private region to implant on the man’s face. The next time he saw the patient he asked how he was. The man had replied, everything was ok, but he would get a nosebleed for a few days each month.”

“My right hand is injured, there’s the scent of blood, the zombie will be attracted here!” He patiently explained, while sighing in his heart: “Fear not the wolf as an enemy, but fear a pig as a friend!”

Yang Ke’er finally understood, and her face dejected as she complained: “Why is it that only women have ‘that’. So annoying.”

AS they spoke, the zombies began to pour out of the warehouse, as an S-Type ran at the forefront, with 2 D-Types following behind. There were 45 other ordinary zombies.

The S-Type looked like it had eaten a lot, and was about to evolve to an S2. Its height was about 1.4m, its arms longer than its legs, looking like some sort of ape.

The S-Type was quicker than any other S-Types Zhang Xiao Qiang had met before. In a flash, it had pulled the distance closer.

He grabbed hold of Yang Ke’er as she leaped down, reminding her: “Remember, never, never ever let the zombies scratch you.”

She was filled to the brim with confidence and nodded casually before continuing.

He was not as confident in her, the S-Type was simply too fast if it had been him, he had no confidence in taking it down. At this point, he used his teeth to rip his bandages apart and hit his hand on the wall of the vehicle.

Immediately, his wounds tore open again, as blood flowed.

The S-Type smelled the blood right before it came in contact with Yang Ke’er and immediately made for Zhang Xiao Qiang, ignoring her.

“Gu” The S-Type was immediately sent flying like a ragged doll towards the distance. Just as it had been about to pass Yang Ke’er, she had thrust out with the Beast Horn Spear, causing its body to flip 180 degrees before flying away.

She was not satisfied with the result and went towards the D-Type.

“Too impatient, she should wait for them to come themselves.” Zhang Xiao Qiang assessed her from the back.

Yang Ke’er ran up to the D-Types and with both her hands, using the Beast Horn Spear to thrust out in a circle near the necks of the D-Types. As she drew the spear back, 2 heads rolled to the floor, as the headless bodies crumpled slowly.

Seeing this, Zhang Xiao Qiang felt more at ease, the zombies that posed more of a threat were taken out, the rest were just fodder. They had neither speed nor strength, as long as one wasn’t surrounded, it would be ok.
