It felt as though they had been up in the air for an eternity by the time the island came into view off of the right wing of aéroplane as it banked to make right. The Island was a large, green and lush and as you looked at it from one angle it looked like a heart shaped mountain, from the other angle the island looked long like the blade of a sword. The water around the island was so crystal clear you could see then sand bars below, and the brightly colord fish as the swam. As they came in closer Alannah was actually excited about the possibilities that lay in store for her, and for the first time since the plane lifted off the water, she let go of Nicolò's hand. They both looked out the window as their journey was coming to an end.The more they flew over the island itself the more she noticed it wasn't heart shaped at all, but shaped more like that a sea horse. She spotted the pond in the middle of the island that the pilot had talked about, she could tell that he was indeed getting ready to drop them off near the pond.

As the pilot came in for a landing, he flew the aéroplane deep into the valley until they came to an open field. She saw a small town at one edge of the island, the island was indeed beautiful, full of mountains and trees. As they came through a clearing she saw the pond the pilot had told them about, the pond was in the middle of a secluded valley with a large stone Chateau at the far end and a wide open area of fields, farmlands, orchards and meadows. The pilot brought the plane down on the pond and Alannah caught a glimpse beyond the Chateau of rising hills covered in dense forest, terraced farmland and grasslands bordered on all sides by the forest. She looked up at Nicolò and said "Can you believe this place? It is nothing like what we had in Dalkey, there are no roads here, no cars, nothing." she mused absently. "And best of all the air is so clean here, this place is beautiful, perhaps it won't be so bad after all."

Upon reaching the dock of the pond and securing the plane to the moors, the pilot left the engines running, and as his two passengers got out of the plane and started looking around, he quickly found the coin purse and relieved it of the money that was there. Leaving the engines running he knew was his best chance of making a hasty exit. He then began collecting the supplies that Nicolò had purchased before they left and handed them out of the plane, next he handed both Nicolò and Alannah's traveling bags to Nicolò. "You will need to wait here," he said pointing at the bench by the pond. "I am sure that someone will come for you soon," he smiled, casting a nervous glance in the direction of the Chateau, and with that the pilot hastily untied and re-boarded the plane and he was gone. Alannah watched as the plane bounce across the water and took off, her last connection to civilization.
