Alannah began to relax more and more, and the evenings were spent in her husbands arms. They began reading scriptures together as well, something that she had stressed was very important to her. Prayer in the morning and prayer at night was also becoming a welcome addition to the family routine. Alannah was positvely glowing at the changes that she was experiencing with her new life.

Shortly after the first time Alannah made love to her husband, of course there were many more evenings like that, but Alannah began feeling a bit tense and had a major case of cabin fever. One morning she woke up feeling listless and miserable, and so sick that she actually threw up. When she went down for breakfast that morning, her mother-in-law had a smile on her face as big as Alannah had ever seen.

"What has you so happy this morning, Mamma Beringer?"

"You will see, in time my dear, in time."

Confused as to what her riddle was about, Alanna sat down to eat her eggs. She heard the rumble of wagon wheels and looked up, and there she saw coming up the road was a very familiar open wagon. Anya had come to visit her with her entire family, Alannah's spirit brightened. Alannah went out to meet them, Anya stepped down with help from her husband, and the two hugged.

"It's been far too long, Anya"

"Indeed it has, I have news," Anya said with a smile

The two of them disappeared around the side of the house, hand in hand leaving the baby with her husband. As they walked the short distance to the grassy knoll where Alannah first met Dominic, they were chatting the whole way.

"So, how is married life treating you?"

Alannah blushed, "It's good, Dominic is such a wonderful man. We have scripture readings every night now, and the family prays together in the morning before daily duties. It's wonderful to have God back in my life."

"That's great! I take it you have discovered that marriage is not the end of the story." Anya said as the two of them arranged the blanket on the grass and sat down. There was a light breeze coming in from the lake that still held a bit of the fresh morning air. Alannah watched the ripples on the lake as the wind graced the surface, and teased their hair. The grass about them moved in waves like the ocean waves crashing on the shore. Alannah closed her eyes and took a long deep breath, with her head titled toward heaven.

"I haven't thought about it one way or the other," Alannah said "and thinking ahead for me was always planning my next escape. There was never any room left for a normal life."
