Dominic stood up to see the Captain out, when he came back into the room, Alannah asked "Dominic did I hear the Captain correctly? You are in the process of hiring one-hundred men? You haven't done all of that just for me, have you?"

Dominic looked at her with nothing but love in his eyes, "Mi Amore, I would hire a thousand men if it means keeping you safe."

"But Dominic! That must be expens …"

"Alannah, please do not fret, the expense is well within my means, and as my wife you are my top priority right now, you and my family." Dominic told her.

"Alright, Dominic, but why was he asking me all those questions? Is there something that I need to know? Is he assuming that I am involved with the dealings of my brother?"

"At the present time," Dominic told her, considering his words carefully, "it is best that you do not know everything, you are safer not knowing. And don't give me that look! What you do not know is keeping you alive."

"Oh, so what you're saying is that what I don't know can hurt me?" she said with more sarcasm that she intended. "But he is here looking for me…"

"Alannah this is not something to take lightly," he told her seriously. "But enough of the doom and gloom! The minister will be arriving in a few hours. You had best use the rest of the time to prepare yourself."

Senorita Beringer came and took Alannah by the hand, and with Maria close behind, the three of them took the grand staircase up to Alannah's suite of rooms. There over the where over the next three hourse, Alannah was transformed into a beautiful seemingly happy bride.

The wedding was marvelous, Alannah wore Señorita Beringer's dress, which was altered just slightly to fit the slimmer woman. The bodice was made of antique lace with a scooped neckline, elegant lace sleeves the came down into a V at the middle finger, the delicate lace on the bocice was over ivory satin, the back of the dress has silk covered white buttons and a scooped ruffled train.

The next few days went by very quickly, as if she were caught up in a cyclone. There were incidents and strange occurances, much like before yet they seemed to be picking up pace as the time drew closer to the day her father was to arrive. During it all Alannah felt like an outsider looking in. After the wedding her belongings were moved from her room overlooking the gardens, to that of Dominics room, which overlooked the lake. Alannah felt as though she were a marrionette doll, being made to dance around on strings. She had been up rooted by her own accord and placed in a strange place. Her roots, which had been tied her to her family felt severed, she was sure that in the long run this would be a good thing, but for now, even though she has just gained a new family, Alannah felt oddly alone.
